SCRABBEL
SF's finest indie-pop group rarely plays live these days, so be sure to catch them!
"On Scrabbel's second full length recording, 1909, mastermind Dan Lee (who plays everything from keyboards to guitar to clarinet to speak & spell) has jumbled string sections with whimsical pop, early British invasion melodies and electro blip beats." -AOL Radio

SURF CITY
Noise-pop-garage all the way from New Zealand, one of the buzz bands from CMJ 2009!
"It seems like decades since any New Zealand band has managed to evoke The same feeling that The Clean and Straightjacket Fits did. Mix that with how you feel about Interpol and maybe Sonic Youth and you have a fair idea." --Pavement
"Their live shows fluctuate form raucously fun to fantastically loose. That genuine vulnerability and intensity is what makes them engaging not to mention entertaining." -- Rip It Up

THE ART MUSEUMS
Bay Area psych burnouts Josh Alper & Glenn Donaldson (Skygreen Leopards, Mirza, Thuja, etc) converged in San Francisco in the Summer of '09 to record Anglophile jams on a Tascam 388 tape machine (state of the art home-recording circa '85). ROUGH FRAME is their debut LP for the WOODSIST label, and it tells sordid tales of artists, lovers & poseurs with cult new wave jangle. "The Art Museums are the latest signees to Woodsist (home to Real Estate, Woods, Ganglians, Blank Dogs), and while we don't know much about these guys, they do have a forthcoming LP, Rough Frame, on the way, and the Kinks-y jangle of 'Sculpture Gardens' is a promising sign of things to come." --Pitchfork
